Vourno, a crowdfunding platform and independent news network for video journalism, has announced the launch of an exciting new feature, “Upload A Video”.
Journalists worldwide now have the ability to directly upload any news story to vourno.com. Before this feature, journalists could only post stories they created using Vourno’s crowdfunding platform. The addition of ‘Upload A Video’ provides immediate growth and content to our network and opens up our site to journalists around the globe seeking another distribution platform to showcase their work. Journalists can either upload an actual video file or provide a URL from their Vimeo or YouTube account.
This new initiative provides journalists with a central location to maintain, build and share their portfolio of work as well raise funds so they can create news stories that matter most to them.
“Unlike other crowdfunding and video platforms, we are only focused on the news and created the best of both under one roof. We are building the first truly independent news network of its kind,” said Joseph Verdirame, Co-Founder of Vourno. “We understand the existing model for news is broken and we’ve built the premier platform to solve this problem. Through Vourno, journalists have more tools to become successful and the public finally has a voice in what stories get funded and how existing stories are rated. We don’t dictate what get’s created, funded or uploaded.”
“Our goals as a company are to democratize the news, take crowdfunded reporting to the next level and change the entire news landscape for years to come. We’re very excited to offer the ‘Upload a Video’ feature for free to journalists.”
Vorno is presently planning on expanding their crowdfunding platform into other countries. Vourno will be launching in Australia, Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg, The Netherlands and Spain in the near future.
