Nonprofit Platform Onefund Launches First Crowdfunding Campaign

It launched its website earlier this month, and now the new crowdfunding platform for nonprofit endeavors Onefund is sharing more details about its goal of becoming a global service.  Created by a group of Boulder, Colorado residents, platform aims “to provide a mechanism that will help nonprofit organizations and initiatives raise money they need.”

According to its website, Onefund invests in folks who are try doing good work, who lend a helping hand, teach someoneOnefund how to fish, bridge gaps or simply car. It believes it is a commitment to the community, friends and neighbors.

The platform’s first project is the School Fund Project, which is a public-private partnership striving to put healthier meals in schools throughout the Boulder Valley School District. Director of food services for the school district and chef Ann Cooper leads the campaign and the program’s goal is raise $100,000 before July. So far, 10 backers have pledged $250.

School Food ProjectThe goal of the program is to “focus on educational promotions and marketing of local, nutritious food with hope of creating and integrating curriculum on food literacy.” The funds are to help make the program thrive and stay afloat.

Also noted on School Food Project’s website, it has been involved with other campaigns including the emanation of hydrogenated oils, high fructose corn syrup, and artificial additives from the district’s lunch menu.
