IgnitionDeck, a WordPress crowdfunding plugin that helps you raise money on your own site has announced a new relationship with Fundify.
IgnitionDeck was launched in 201o with the single goal of assisting entrepreneurs like themselves raise money without having to ask permission from various gatekeepers (platforms etc.). IgnitionDeck is the application used on the never-ending crowdfunding campaign by Chris Roberts’ Star Citizen campaign. The self crowdfunding project stands at over $44 million today – with no end in site. While their initial mission was modest they eventually turned their sights to an enterprise version, a product that would enable a whole new class of crowdfunding entrants.
Simultaneously the Astoundify team, consisting of designer Adam Pickering and developer Spencer Finnell, built and released a similar product that would help grow the crowdfunding industry. Their free crowdfunding plugin, paired with the gorgeous Fundify theme, created a unique offering at a manageable price point that helped bring even more momentum to the cause that is self-hosted crowdfunding.
The two groups have had multiple positive interactions during the past year and during one of these encounters it became apparent the two teams should merge.
Now the Fundify theme and plugin are joining the IgnitionDeck product family. No terms have been disclosed. In the interim, no immediate changes will be made to the product, and Fundify customers will continue to receive the same outstanding support they’ve always received.
