In a note posted on the UK Business Angels Association, it was shared that Angels Den has successfully funded 29 businesses for all of 2014. The UKBAA also highlighted two of the funding platform’s recent successes:
MuscleGenes, the world’s fastest growing fitness genetic testing company, pitched at an Angels Den SpeedFunding event as part of a planned investment strategy which raised £170k in only 5 weeks.
Business Agent, an aggregation portal for Crowdfunding and Businesses for Sale, pitched at an Angels Den SpeedFunding and London Crowdfunding Club event, as well as having their own ‘crowd’ to engage with. The combination of experienced angel investors and harnessing their own existing network or ‘crowd’ has enabled Business Agent to raise over double their funding target.
Angels Den has differentiated their product via their strong background in live pitching events and deep connections to the Angel Community. They estimate the 92% of businesses receive investor interest at their pitching events. Investment crowdfunding has been embraced by an organization that started the traditional path of connecting Angels to companies and in fact the founders see it as a “natural evolution”.
