The organizers of the successful and fast growing One Spark crowdfunding festival, held each year in Jacksonville, Florida, have taken their event and message on the road. First stop is Berlin, Germany where One Spark Start: Berlin will take place this coming September.
One Spark is self described as the World’s Crowdfunding Festival and in proving that statement they are organizing a one day event for 50 selected creators to showcase their projects and pitch their art, innovation, music, technology or whatever in front of a live audience. The project creators will have their concepts reviewed with votes being tallied. There is the potential to capture part of € 35,000 plus awards. There is an opportunity to win a free trip to One Spark in the US next year and attempt to receive up to € 1 million in capital investments.
The exact break down of the awards are below:
- Award Structure: Total of 35,000 €
- 10,000 € distributed by public vote
- 10,000 € Berlin Prize to the top Berlin-based Creator (based on jury)
- Juried award winners will receive:
- 1,000 € bonus to each Juried category winner
- 1 Free trip for each Juried category winner (1 plane ticket and 5 hotel nights) to One Spark US in Florida (April 2015 – valued at 2,000 €)
- Each Juried category winner will be invited to showcase at an event during Social Media Week Berlin and the Grunder Garage Closing Ceremony
The event in Berlin is free to the public. Creators are free to submit their projects for consideration as well. The event is scheduled to open on Friday, September 12th with a full day of project creators and voting on the 13th.
