Scoop Films Seeks to Raise £75,000 on CrowdShed for New Indie Film That Stars Actor Luke Perry

Beat Beneath My Feel 1

Earlier this month, Scoop Films producers Fiona Gillies, Raj Sharma and Michael Mueller launched a crowdfunding campaign on UK-based platform CrowdShed for their film The Beat Beneath My Feet. The film will star former Beverly Hills 90210 actor, Luke Perry.

Per the synopsis, The Beat Beneath My Feet is about a teenager boy who uncovers the hidden identity of his new neighbor and begins to blackmail him. The unruly neighbor turns out to be a fallen “Rock God.”

The Beat Beneath My Feet will be Perry’s first British Independent film. The producers noted, “Luke was attracted to the project because he loved the script by award-winning writer Michael Mueller. Both are fathers of teenage boys and drew on their experiences to create an appealing and rigorously honest world.”

It will also feature an exciting soundtrack of original music from artists such as Kristeen Young, Dave Grohl, The Strypes, Friday Club and John Fairhurst. The producers also shared, “This feature film was shot on location in London and is ready to hit the big screens and we want it to reach out to the widest possible audience. This coming-of-age movie already has international interest.”

Luke PerryDuring an interview with The Telegraph, Perry described the story being about “the unlikely friendship between two characters.” When asked how it felt to work on a low-budget production, he revealed, “I’ve worked on big movies and small movies but it all comes down to telling the story the best you can. We may have less equipment but that doesn’t we’re any less effective at telling the story.”

The producers notably called upon investors to help support the independent film industry through this campaign and said, “By helping us make The Beat Beneath My Feet a success, you are keeping the Indie film industry snapping at the heels of the big studios and that’s great for everyone. We don’t want to be left with nothing but Transformers 27 to watch at our local cinema.”

The Beat Beneath My Feet crowdfunding campaign is set to close on November 5th.
