Power Rangers Star Amy Jo Johnson Suits Up in Hero Costume to Celebrate Her Indiegogo Campaign

Ready to share her excitement with the world over her crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo reaching its initial $75,000 goal, Power Rangers star Amy Jo Johnson stepped out as the original pink ranger on Friday (November 7th).

Johnson Pink Ranger 3The campaign, which is for her debut feature film, The Space Between, is about a proud new daddy who finds out his child is not his own. It is eventually revealed that his wife took his infertility into her own hands with a 19-year-old “ginger.” He then sets out on a hilarious and heartfelt journey to find the biological baby-daddy. The film, which is filled with a quirky cast, is about acceptance, family, love, and, notably, a few dirty diapers.

As part of the campaign, Johnson announced that her former co-star, David Yost, challenged her to dress as the pink ranger if the campaign reached its goal. She took to the update section of the campaign and wrote, “Not sure if you’ve heard. BUT David Yost (my former Ranger mate) has challenged me to suit up as the PINK RANGER if we reach our goal. We’re SO CLOSE! Just wanted to share this silly little video of Sonya Salomaa and I playing PR. Just practicing my moves. Ha! If all goes well I will be back in PINK on Friday at 4 pm. OMG!”

Johnson Pink Ranger 1Before making her special pink ranger appearance, Johnson took to her Instagram with a snapshot of the costume and wrote, “Oh my lord. Can’t believe I’m doing this tomorrow! Dressing up as the pink ranger and busking on the corner of Yonge and Dundas at 4 pm because we reached our goal on Indiegogo. Last call for a behind the scenes special download video of the event. Everyone who contributes until tomorrow gets one!! Indiegogo.com the space between faerie film!!”

Also revealing gratitude towards her backers, Johnson shared,”I promise only my very best will be put into this film. Sincerely, you all are my heroes and this campaign is not only a platform to raise the money to shoot the film but also a place to create a community of support around the process. ”

For those backing the project, if you donate $300, Johnson will MORPH for YOU in a video clip. Plus she will provide a signed headshot of her as the ranger.

Since its debut, the campaign has scored over $92,000. It is set to close on November 23rd.
