On Sunday (December 7th), a Seattle, Washington startup launched a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo to raise $50,000 for its notifier and fitness tracker, Uno Noteband. Within the first 48 hours, the cool device reached $41,755 from nearly 600 backers.
According to the campaign’s website, the Uno Noteband is considered the first wearable to use Spritz, which is a new reading compression technology that enables one touch reading. It also keeps up with digital alerts without you having to check your phone. It will notify you of incoming calls, emails, social media alerts, and calendar reminders. All the information you need on your wrist.
Besides alerts and notifications, some of Uno Noteband’s other features include:
- Gaming Notifications: Read notifications, game alerts and invitations from friends on Xbox LIVE, Playstation, and Steam.
- Read Only: Uno is read only – users don’t want to manage them with actions like reply, delete or save.
- Incoming Calls: See who is calling at a glance. You have the option of dismissing the call straight from Uno Noteband without pulling out your phone.
- Fitness Tracker: Uno is equipped with the most advanced 6 Axis Gyrosope and Accelerometer providing fitness tracking data to count steps, calories, sleep, and steps.
- Syncs Automatically: Syncs fitness data collected by the Noteband with the Apple iOS 8.0 Health app or Google Fit compatible services/apps.
- Fitness Compatibility: Shares their fitness data in a seamless, unified way across fitness apps using Apple Health or Google Fit.
Explaining the design of the Uno Noteband, the team shared, “Uno comes in a beautiful matte black finish that coordinates with any wardrobe making it classic enough for the office, durable enough for the gym, and versatile enough to wear everyday. Uno comes in a variety of colors, with interchange able wristbands to match your style, your mood, and your outfit. Fun or functional, high fashion or high adventure, there’s an Uno for you.”
For those who haven’t backed the project yet, you can receive the Uno Noteband for as little as $69, which is $60 off of its original price $129. It is estimated to be delivered in April 2015.
