Over the weekend, global crowdfunding platform Indiegogo announced the exciting news that it has created documentary archive program with ITN Source, which is dedicated to filmmakers seeking funds.
The platform shared:
“We’re launching a Documentary Archive Program which will give Indiegogo filmmakers direct access to historical news and entertainment footage from ITN Source, one of the world’s largest international footage licensors.
“Through this new program, filmmakers in the draft stage of an Indiegogo campaign can connect directly with the ITN Source team in order to receive free research assistance and archive material for use in their pitch film. The Documentary Archive Program is open to documentary filmmakers across the world.”
Revealing how ITN Source works, Indiegogo explained:
“ITN Source has over 2.8 million video clips, programs and film titles available online. They represent the global archives of ITN, Reuters, ITV Studios, NBC, Fox News, Fox Movietone and numerous specialist collections. The archive spans 118 years (from 1896 to present), covering everything from news to drama, celebrity, comedy, music, wildlife and natural history. Over 20 hours of digitized content is added every day, making rare and previously unseen material available to producers and researchers around the world.”
Also noting how this will help filmmakers, the crowdfunding website stated that it gives crowdfunders across the globe such offers:
- Research advice and assistance to help develop ideas
- Free screeners for inclusion in pitch videos
- Access to view digitised ITV Studios programmes & film titles
- Advice on costs of licensing archive material
