Ready to finish his latest project, director, narrator and creator of Zeitgeist, Peter Joseph has debuted a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo that is dedicated to raising $50,000 for the highly anticipated documentary, InterReflections.
Per its synopsis, InterReflections is story about a quest for a new, more humane society, a counter-culture revolution takes the world by storm. Notably, in the first of the InterReflections Trilogy, we look back to the modern world and wonder how it was we managed to survive as long as we had.
Sharing details about the project, Joseph wrote:
“Friends,
As some may know I have been developing the first of the long anticipated “InterReflections” Trilogy for over 4 years now.
Sadly, both time and budget issues have kept this film at bay. As bothersome as it is, I am reaching out to my supporters to help push this project along. This film has sought no major studio backers and to preserve the artistic and social integrity of the work, I have refused any offers that seek to interfere… or appear to only be about profit.
Here is the deal: The core budget problem I face is the professional CGI work. While many have volunteered to help to some degree or another, the nature of the need requires a professional, full time CGI studio. This campaign is to help finance it.
While the film will eventually be put online for free viewing, it will be professionally released in stages to assure maximum exposure and to recover the core budget to fund the next of the Trilogy. This traditional release path includes Theatrical, Cable, VOD and then Vimeo/Youtube.”
Those that are funding the project will receive various projects, including:
- $100:
Free DVD upon completion of the film… and a warm virtual hug.
- $250: Free DVD (in advance, but after completion), signed (pretentiously) by Joseph. Backers will also gain free, first access to the online VOD upload when first up.
- $750: Everything noted above, plus a free VIP seat at the Los Angeles Premiere of the film
- $1500: Everything noted above, PLUS the backer will get an actual Associated Producer Credit for the film.
Since its launch on Sunday, the campaign has successfully secured over half the initial goal thanks to 500 backers. It is set to close on June 3rd.
