investUP (known as UP), a crowdfunding supermarket, has appointed Cary Depel as its Compliance and Legal Director. Depel will bring more than 20 years’ experience with him and will be responsible for compliance and legal, helping to transform the crowdfunding landscape.
Drawing on his considerable experience as Board Director and Compliance Officer, as well as a career as an established US attorney and UK solicitor, Depel will work closely with investUP Managing Director James Tuckett and the investUP board of directors in taking investUP’s proposition to the next level.

It allows investors to search for deals from all their favorite crowdfunding sites, uniquely invest in these without leaving the site and then keep track of their investments. From 2008-2010, Depel served as General Counsel and Human Resource Director at LMAX Exchange, the world’s first retail derivatives exchange platform. Previously, he was Compliance and Legal Director at ECU Group and at IFX Markets before that. He also serves as a Non-Executive Director for a number of technology firms and is a Member of the Leadership Council for The CPCU Society.

Depel began his career as an intellectual property associate at law firm Crosby, Heafey, Roach & May. He received his BSc in business and law from Indiana University, and most recently his Master of Laws from King’s College London.
