Acar’Up, a pharmaceutical laboratory specialising in the fight against allergies set itself a challenge to raise €100,000 in 1 hour. The goal was met in just 8 minutes.
According to company representatives, Acar’Up set a window to invest on June 1st, from 12 noon to 1PM. The company had previously used MyMicroInvest back in April when it crowdfunded €100,000 in 19 days. This time was different though as they decided to compress the time available for investors to participate. The funding targets was quickly hit as 50 investors lined up to fund the company.
Acar’Up co-founders Anne-Catherine Mailleux and Pierre Buffet, explained their success as driven by the potential for their product. After 7 years of academic research, Acar’Up is now clinical proven and being proscribed by doctors. “It is really the quality of our product that has allowed us to obtain such results today.”
Buffet spoke about the potential for the new treatment;
“..the concept is completely innovative and can be equated to biomimicry: attract the dust mites with their own pheromones in order to trap them, eliminate them and, thus, eliminate your allergy… isn’t that great?”
The crowdfunding initiative went straight to their most ardent supporters: the thousands of users that have benefited from their product;
“We have mobilised our networks over the last 2 weeks, particularly our thousands of users, who can testify to a significant improvement in their quality of life, our business partners and the pharmacists. We have shown them our advancements, our results, the state of affairs, and our strategy for the future… They have clearly responded positively to the call, which is a very positive sign,” explained Anne-Catherine Mailleux.
