UK’s Ginmeister Seeks £600,000 on Growthdeck For Expansion Of Pink Gin Brand Pinkster

Pinkster 1

Ginmiester has launched a crowdfunding campaign on Growthdeck to raise £600,000 as it prepares to expand its pink gin brand, Pinkster

The brand’s description reads:

Pinkster 2“The base Pinkster spirit is distilled to Pinkster’s own recipe with five botanicals by G&J Distilleries, the leading distiller and bottler of spirits in the UK. This ensures a consistently high-quality base, produced cost effectively, in scalable quantities. Fresh raspberries, grown locally to the firm’s HQ outside Cambridge, together with two other secret botanicals are then macerated by hand in the spirit before being returned to G&J for bottling. The result is a deliciously dry gin, with a hint of fruit and an exceptionally smooth finish, appealing to both seasoned gin drinkers and recent converts. It makes a refreshingly different G&T especially when served with decent tonic, a raspberry and a sprig of fresh mint.

Since its establishment in 2013, Pinkster has stocked in over 500 UK outlets, from retailers such as Oddbins, to e-tailers like Ocado and Amazon and a range of gastropubs, restaurants, hotels, farm shops and independent wine merchants. The premium gin recently launched in Australia and has announced that it plans to be distributed in the U.S. shortly.

Growthdeck stated that Pinkster is capitalizing on a growing trend for niche, artisanal spirit brands and craft beers. CEO of the crowdfunding platform, Gary Robins commented:

Pinkster 4“Pinkster is an exciting opportunity for crowdfunders to back a stand-out drinks brand in a rapidly expanding market. Boutique distilleries and craft brands are enjoying a huge surge in popularity right now, as consumer demand for premium, but less mainstream, products increases. Having achieved rapid year-on-year growth, building up impressive nationwide reach in only a short space of time, its makers now have serious global ambitions. The Growthdeck funding will enable them to capitalise on further growth opportunities both in the UK and beyond.”

Pinkster founder and managing director, Stephen Marsh, explained:

Pinkster 5“Having started the business from my kitchen table under three years ago, it’s tremendous that we’re now seeking fresh capital to finance domestic and international growth. As global gin sales accelerate, Pinkster provides drinkers with a quirky alternative. And just as we stand out from the pack, so Growthdeck’s different approach marked them out from other crowdfunding platforms. We like the fact that their model brings together the accessibility of crowdfunding with the robustness of a private equity-style approach for the benefit of businesses and investors alike. Having Growthdeck’s sector advisers on hand to guide and support us will undoubtedly open doors, enabling more retailers to join the raspberry revolution.

Pinkster’s chairman and early backer is founder of Contender Entertainment, Richard Bridgwood and former Diageo senior executive Martjin van Buuren has also joined the company’s team as an adviser. Since its launch, the campaign has successfully secured nearly £80,000.
