On Tuesday, global crowdfunding platform Indiegogo unveiled seven key stats on campaign perks. The website stated that perks were created as a way to encourage backers to support an initiative. These range from tangible products (DVDs), personal (thank you tweets, notes, etc.) or an experience (events).
The Indiegogo team noted that the average number of perks offered through a campaign is four while the average number of perks for campaigns that hit their goals is seven. Stretch goals, secret perks, and additional accessories are common reasons why campaign organizers continue to add more perks once an initiative is already launched. It was also revealed that of perks claimed, the most popular value is $25.
