This week, crowdfunding platform Watsi has formed a new partnership with healthcare payments technology company Patientco to fund medical procedures throughout the world.
According to the new partners, Patientco will pay it forward by donating $5 to Watsi for every attendee badge scanned at its 2016 Annual National Institute of the Healthcare Financial Management Association booth to fund life-giving medical procedures for patients supported by the funding portal. Sharing details about the partnership, Kurt Lovell, chief operating officer at Patientco stated:
“At Patientco, we are set on creating positive change in healthcare for everyone. As a vital part of that goal, we actively give back to those who are unable to afford healthcare for themselves. When we found out about Watsi, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to extend our goal of creating positive change to patients around the world.”
Grace Garey, Watsi co-founder, added:
“We’re thrilled to help Patientco pay it forward for each attendee who visits their booth! Watsi exists to connect people, so the fact that we can connect Patientco and their community directly with patients in need of healthcare is a really special opportunity for us. This will make an enormous difference for patients around the world.”
To date, 18,562 donors have contributed $6.5 million on Watsi for 8,112 patients in 23 countries.
