UK Crowdfunding Association Partners on Fall Crowdfest Event

Crowdfest 2016

The UK Crowdfunding Association (UKCFA) is partnering on a forthcoming crowdfunding event scheduled to take place in London this coming fall. Crowdfest is described as a “multi-streamed forum with over 50 speakers, taking place in October with a capacity of 700.”  Crowdfest strives to be the industry’s leading flagship event.

Organizers told Crowdfund Insider they intend on addressing topics which have attracted some of the most interest including blending crowdfunding with VC and  angel investment; cross-border opportunities; and making a successful exit. They also have a stream on combining crowdfunding with Islamic finance and this too, seems to have sparked real excitement.

“One of the great thing about Crowdfest will be the diversity and size of of the crowd.  Not just platforms, SMEs and investors, but charities, institutions, academics, entrepreneurs and corporates all rubbing shoulders and exchanging contacts and ideas,” stated Richard Patterson.

The event should be timely as it comes at a time when the Financial Conduct Authority is in the midst of its crowdfunding regulatory review. This, combined with the impact of the Brexit, should drive vibrant discussion regarding the benefits and challenges of internet finance.  Crowdfest is scheduled to take place in Shoreditch in London on October 19th and 20th.
