The FinTech Zone, created by Matt Elton, will launch this week at a ceremony held at Hotel Le Royal in Luxembourg City. This will be the first Fintech center for the country – a wealthy, financial center in Europe. Luxembourg is ranked highly in the Global Financial Centres Index (GFCI) and is tops in the Eurozone and second after London in Europe. So it should come as no surprise there is growing interest in Fintech in the relatively small European nation.
The FinTech Zone will focus on four different areas, according to a report in the Chronicle.Lu. These are as follows:
- Creating a culture where Fintech innovation can happen
- Gathering ideas including boot camps and workshops
- Delivering “game changing” products and services
- Creating a special service for international companies seeking to set up their European operations in Luxembourg.
Elton sees the FinTech Zone as an environment where “synergies between like-minded people will lead to game-changing products and services.”
