With Super Troopers 2 officially back into production, the cast of the highly anticipated comedy welcomed Rob Lowe to their hilarious roster. Variety revealed Lowe will play the role of Guy Le Franc, a former hockey player and the current mayor of a Canadian town near Quebec.
Back in spring 2015, production studio Broken Lizard announced the sequel just 14 years after the first film’s release at the 2001 Sundance Festival. The crew revealed that the movie would only be made if the film studio’s Indiegogo campaign completely raised $2 million. The film will star Jay Chandrasekhar (starring and directing), Paul Soter, Steve Lemme, Erik Stolhanske, and Kevin Heffernan.
Broken Lizard shared the Rob Lowe news on Wednesday by tweeting:

Lowe also tweeted:
Shooting SuperTroopers feels like Wayne’s World or Austin Powers did. This one could be really special. Insane. Funny. Quotable for days.
