Less than a week after announcing Rob Lowe has joined Super Troopers 2’s cast and the return of Marisa Coughlan, who played Officer Ursula Hanson, the Broken Lizard crew revealed Entourage’s Emmanuelle Chriqui has been named the hilarious comedy’s new leading lady.
Broken Lizard previously announced the film just 14 years after Super Troopers release at the 2001 Sundance Festival. The production company revealed that the movie would only be made if the film’s Indiegogo campaign secured $2 million.
In a recent update, the Broken Lizard team stated:
“If you didn’t see yesterday’s news, we’ve got another new member to welcome to the Broken Lizard family: the incredible Emmanuelle Chriqui (from ENTOURAGE, people!!!) has agreed to bring a little bit of class to Super Troopers 2. She’s playing a new character named Genevieve Aubois, but that’s all you’re getting from us. What? You want us to spoil the movie for you? Fine! She’s Quebe-fuckin’-cois! You got us. Happy? Anyway, Emmanuelle — or ‘Shreeky,’ as her last name is pronounced — has been working her French-Canadian butt off here on set, but we got her for a second before a scene last night.”
The crew also revealed details about the campaign’s rewards:
“We covered this in some past Indiegogo updates, but for anyone asking about your Indiegogo rewards – t-shirts, posters, DVDs, premiere screenings – don’t worry. We haven’t forgotten anything, but we can’t start making a lot of that stuff until we finish shooting the movie. If you need some peace of mind, we still have a full calendar on our website that spells out when everything will get delivered.”
