The North American Securities Administrators Association (NASAA) has posted a request for comments on a proposed stated of policy regarding usage of electronic documents and electronic signatures. As paper quickly fades into the past, digital documents have become the norm and not the exception. This is the second request for public comments with the deadline being November 2nd.
The NASAA proposal or Electronic Initiatives Statement of Policy addresses the restrictions and requirements of offering documents, subscription agreements and electronic signatures. So pretty much everything having to do with securities transactions and exemptions old and new.
The document as published by NASAA is embedded below. If you happen to have an opinion please feel free to share with one of the following:
- Bill Beatty (Bill.Beatty@dfi.wa.gov), Chair of the Corporation Finance Section;
- Dan Matthews (Dan.Matthews@dfi.wa.gov), Chair of Business Organizations and Accounting Project Group;
- Anya Coverman (nasaacomments@nasaa.org), Deputy Director of Policy and Associate General Counsel;
- Mark Stewart (nasaacomments@nasaa.org), Counsel at the NASAA Corporate Office
