Launched in Barcelona’s Gràcia neighborhood during the summer of 2014 by Venezuelan friends Alejandro Bringas and Juan Lattuf who met working while catering, Chivuo’s mission is to provide high quality Slow Street Food and craft beer, including crowd favorite Garage Beer. The hot spot’s name appeals to men with beards, because Bringas and Lattuf believe that la chiva, or beard, (which both owners sport) is a symbol of experience, history, intrigue and wisdom, qualities possessed with Chivuo’s street food and craft beer. The Crowdcube Spain crowd agrees. Closing in on the its half-way goal, Chivuo’s has already secured over 85,890€ for 5.56% equity with the help of over 72 investors.
Chivuo’s offers tribute to “the every day, Working Class Hero” with its craft beer and tantalizing street food (see images).
“We wake up every day wih the hope of making an honest product that must be treated as he deserves. We enjoy a delicious snack and a good beer is of Kings. We decided to plant us with proposed risky that for the moment not very known in the city, because we knew that they would fit perfectly in the local tastes with products like the Pulled Pork, the Philly Cheese Steak or Tuna Melt made always by hand,” explained the campaign. “From the start believe in creating an environment that we ourselves would eat and drink every day and feel like at home, a place with the best food from Street and craft beer. A winning combination from any point of view, a few options menu paired with a highly demanded product in clear expansion.”
Highly ranked on TripAdvisor, a second Chivuo’s location is planned for el Raval, near Las Ramblas with a third location on the way in Barcelona’s l’Antiga Esquerra de l’Eixample. Growth into other Spanish cities and in cities throughout Europe is now also being considered.
The campaign is set to close in 20 days.
