A team of Finnish Nokia-alumni are tackling the question of how photo editing can become as intuitive and efficient as the act of taking the photos themselves and have lined on a solution: Loupedeck, a console controller for Adobe Lightroom, which aims to allow for total control of the program. Loupedeck’s successful crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo may be surprising even them. With an initial goal of €75K, to date the campaign is overfunding by 450%, having raised more than €322,392 with the confidence of over 1263 backers. The Indiegogo price for Loupedeck is €229, but will increase to €369 after the campaign in unspecified retail markets.
Loupedeck is targeting serious photographers and graphic designers for its controller by providing many solutions including helping to keep the workflow continuous, so that the professional can focus on what’s important.
How I like to see it, is that Loupedeck’s design is something like a DJ-mixing desk on steroids. It allows for any aspiring or established professional working with Adobe Lightroom to level-up their productivity and efficiency,” commented Loupedeck CEO Mikko Kesti. “What it does is that it allows the user to stay focused on what’s important – the results. We’ve done some serious background work in making the controller as sophisticated and intuitive as possible.”
Founded by Kestsi and former Microsoft and Nokia employee Esa Alanen, Loupedeck was built on their complementary vision for the same question, how to maximise the workflow efficiency in photo editing. Esa and his Tampere-based team of hardworking tech-artisans, all of whom had also worked previously at Nokia, were known to be able to transfer ideas into working products.
