Crowdcube Spain: Grupo DIR Closes €450,000 Crowdfunding Round

grupo-dirGrupo DiR, one of the first established Spanish established companies to use investment crowdfunding, has closed a €450,000 investment round through the crowdfunding platform Crowdcube Spain. The additional capital will be used  to fund its twentieth club, DiR Mallorca, which will open in the first quarter of 2017. The crowdfunding round closed in under 20 days, demonstrating the DiR Group’s ability to effectively market the offer to its community. Crowdcube reported that 124 people invested with an average investment of € 3,629.

Pepe BorrellPepe Borrell, Managing Director of Crowdcube Spain, commented on the successful offer;

“DiR’s round illustrates the clear commitment of an already established company opting for a new model of crowd-based funding and new kind of relationship with their users, because an investing customer is always a better customer.”

Reportedly DiR opened this investment round to give their subscribers and supporters a chance to be part of its new facility and become co-investors of the new center, combining their own capital with the contributions of their members.

DiR has over 37 years’ experience and more than 70,000 members.

Crowdcube Spain is an offshoot of the parent company based in the UK. Crowdcube has accumulated a network of more than 300,000 investors that have invested more than £200 million pounds into over 450 businesses. Since July 2014, when Crowdcube began operating in Spain, the platform has channeled €6.5 million for 34 companies. Crowdcube has been authorised by the Spanish Securities Market Commission (CNMV).
