GoFundMe Appoints Change.Org’s John Coventry as Head of UK Communications

Crowdfunding platform GoFundMe has appointed Change.Org’s former managing director of global communication, John Coventry, as its new head of UK communications. Coventry is considered the first hire outside the U.S. for GoFundMe.

HandshakeCoventry notably has 15 years of experience in public relations, digital communications, brand development, and marketing for private, public, and voluntary sectors. Speaking about his new position at GoFundMe, Coventry, reportedly stated:

“The power of the internet to give everyone the tools to stand up for the issues they care about is one of the defining stories of our times. GoFundMe is changing the way people raise and give money, and the team and product are incredibly impressive. It’s great to be joining at such an exciting stage of growth and I can’t wait to get started.”

Since its launch in 2010, GoFundMe has raised $3 million for two million campaigns dedicated to medical expenses, education, community projects, sports, emergencies, pets, etc.from over 25 million donors.
