Clínica Dialibre, the first clinic in Spain to specialize in diabetes for children, opened in March 2016 with the mission of setting a milestone in the treatment of diabetes and improving the young patients’ quality of life by personalizing the treatment for each patient. The Clinica Dialibre clinical team coordinates to provide diabetes education, psychological support, medical devices, nutrition and fitness advice in medical treatment. In addition, thanks to an online consultation and telemedicine usage, a greater number of the population is reachable.
Valued at 900,000€, Madrid-based Clínica Dialibre has swiftly raised over 90K€ toward its 100K€ goal in its Capital Cell crowdfunding campaign which ends on 15 February 2017. To date 20 investors have taken advantage of the 10.00% equity offered and an anticipated 127% ROI.
The team, headed by Dr. Patricia Enes, Medical Director at Clínica Dialibre and María Seoane, Directora Ejecutiva de Clínica Dialibre, believes they know how to fulfill an urgent need in this sector within Spain, where the usage of the medical devices for diabetes is one of the lowest in Europe. The Clínica offers patients appropriated medical devices (such as insulin pump, continuous monitoring system and integrated systems) and proper training, in addition to more services focusing on the needs of people living with diabetes such as dialibreshop.es.
Clinica Dialibre offers the most advanced treatment of the diabetes for children, adolescents and young adults. 5 million people in Spain, 59 million in Europe and 30 million in Latinoamerica live with diabetes. The access to insulin pump (basic medical device to reach a better glycemic control and quality of life) is lower in Spain, with the lowest adoption in Europe (less than 5%).

Clínica Dialibre signed an agreement with Persei Vivarum, a development and e-health management systems, and plans to launch an e-platform in April 2017 with a patients’ area and training, with two main developments:
- a secure area for comunication between patient and proffesional to share clinical information, medical reports and videcall under secured protocol to reinforce the online treatment (will allow to treat more patients keeping the required quality standards)
- online training for modules already developed for diabetes which allows the creation and distribution of training courses on diabetes, psychology and nutrition for families with diabetes and caregivers.
