CommonBond Social Impact Award Accepting Applications

CommonBond, an online lending platform and community that is targeting the student loan space, has launched a new competition that is giving away $10,000. In partnership with Pencils of Promise, CommonBond has launched the Social Impact Award.

According to their site, CommonBond and Pencils of Promise are teaming up to give a cash prize to the country’s top student social-entrepreneur. CommonBond has added an interesting twist to the award as all applicants get access to startup coaching powered by Techstars including how to build a business plan, generate revenue, pitch to investors, and more.

The three finalists will receive a trip to New York City to present to the judges who include;

  • David Klein, CEO and co-founder of CommonBond
  • Hayley Barna,  Venture Partner at First Round Capital, co-founder of Birchbox
  • Adam Braun, CEO & co-founder at MissionU, founder of Pencils of Promise
  • Lil Jon, Grammy Award Winning Artist and longtime Pencils of Promise supporter

If you are interested, you better hurry. The Deadline for submissions is May 31, 2017. Semifinalists will be selectd on June 7th. Videos of the Semifinalists will be voted on by the public from June 15 to July 1st.  The winner will be determined on July 10th in New York City.
