In Preparation for Hurricane Irma: One Spark Extends Creator Application Deadline

One Spark announced on Thursday it is extending the Creator application deadline until midnight on next Wednesday (September 13), to give potential Creators in high-risk areas time to prepare for the threat posed by Hurricane Irma. Innovators and entrepreneurs who wish to apply for the 2017 Innovation Festival taking place October 6th to 7th at EverBank Field now have five extra days to do so.

While sharing details about the application deadline, One Spark Ventures, President Chris Carter, stated:

“Everyone’s attention should be focused on preparing for the storm, and not worried about the One Spark application deadline. We look forward to receiving high-quality applications from innovators and entrepreneurs after Hurricane Irma passes. We will revisit the application deadline once the extent of the hurricane’s impact to the region can be assessed.”

The One Spark 2017 festival will notably welcome up to 150 Creators to receive real market validation, promote individual crowdfunding platforms and make connections with the community. These Creators will be organized by zones, including EdSpark*, TechSpark*, HealthSpark*, SocialSpark* and possibly a section for innovative ideas that fall outside of these targeted zones.

One Spark noted that throughout the day, the event’s attendees will have the opportunity to visit booths in each zone to experience the newest innovations from Creators, form personal relationships and provide feedback. Selected Creators will be required to pay $125 to participate in the event.
