Plug and Play Announces Winter 2017 Batches

California-based global innovation platform Plug and Play announced last week its Winter 2017 Batches. The platform reported that it will run five programs this quarter focused on Health & Wellness, Insurtech, Internet of Things, Mobility, and Travel & Hospitality.

According to Plug and Play, the selection process engages the platform’s corporate partners by sourcing startups directly related to their focus areas. For these latest cohorts, Plug and Play reviewed over 4,000 startups from around the world, accepting entrepreneurs from Belgium, Canada, China, German, India, Istanbul, Japan, Poland, Switzerland, and the UK. The 125 companies will graduate at Plug and Play’s Winter Summit on December 6th-7th. Saeed Amidi, Founder and CEO of Plug and Play, stated:

“Startups have the ability to shift an industry and drive economic growth. Our goal is to find entrepreneurs who are not only passionate about changing the world, but who have created technologies that will directly impact our corporate partner’s focus areas. We look forward to inviting these startups to our headquarters and helping them grow their companies.”

Plug and Play noted that during the next three months, companies will meet with Plug and Play’s network of corporate partners, investors, and mentors. New for Winter 2017, Plug and Play will be rolling out monthly Focus Weeks, where startups and partners working remotely will come to Silicon Valley to meet for an exciting week of pitch events, private dealflows, mentor sessions, and corporate office hours.
