Fundrise, the online marketplace for investing in real estate, shared today that total quarterly dividends topped $3.9 million – the largest to date. More importantly, Fundrise compared their “Supplemental Income portfolio” annualized rate of return to other benchmarks and it looks pretty good. Fundrise is currently delivering 8.23% in contrast to the Vanguard REIT ETF that shelled out just 3.87%. Of course, past returns are not indicative of future results but still thats not too bad.
Fundrise has leveraged Reg A+ to launch their eREIT concept that includes a growing number of options based on strategy and location. Recently they introduced a starter option with an investment minimum of only $500. The private market opportunity is available to both accredited and non-accredited investors. Fundrise believes that paying a premium for publicly traded investments makes no sense if you are a buy and hold type of investor.
