Drinks Group Pure Wild Spirts Now Seeks 750,000 on Growthdeck to Accelerate Growth

Pure Wild Spirits (PWSL), the maker of the Freya Birch Spirit,  is now seeking a combined new investment of £750,000  through the private investor network Growthdeck to fund sales expansion into premium retailers, bar and restaurant chains, and initial exports to New York.

The company stated that Freya Birch Spirit is its first product and was created by founder David Wallwork. PWSL noted that Birch water has recently gained popularity as a natural, healthy soft drink and David identified the possibility that a product distilled from birch sap could successfully make its way into the alcoholic spirits sector. It was also reported:

“In November 2017, PWSL launched a second flavour of Freya called Freya Woodsmoke Birch Spirit. The group owns the rights to all aspects of its products, including the branding, recipe and bottle designs, and also has opportunities to add new lines to its range whilst retaining the ethos of naturally sourced, sustainable products. As birch sap is listed as a new spirits category, Freya is showing signs of disrupting an alcoholic drinks market that is typically dominated by vodka and gin. Strong traction is being achieved in premium bars in London, Manchester, Leeds, Edinburgh and Glasgow, with imminent launch in Italy and New York.”

Growthdeck is notably working with 24 Haymarket, the network of high net worth individuals, to deliver this fundraise. David Wallwork, Founder of PWSL, stated:

“This is a very exciting time for Pure Wild Spirits as we go into a major growth phase of our business. Targeting independent premium bars and building relationships with the most creative mixologists, working with the best bar groups, and trialling premium retail distribution are all key elements of our strategy to manage sales and promote our brand in the UK and internationally. Working with Growthdeck on this fundraise is a major opportunity for the business. They bring extensive experience of supporting growing businesses and offer a wide network of valuable contacts across the industry.”

Gary Robins, Head of Business Development at Growthdeck, added:

“Pure Wild Spirits is offering private investors a rare chance to invest early in a UK business that is first to market birch sap in an alcoholic beverage. The premium spirit market continues to see strong growth particularly across artisan brands. There is no direct competition to Freya, given that it is the only birch spirit currently available, and we are confident that the team at PWSL will successfully penetrate a crowded drinks sector with this totally new concept which has mass market appeal.”
