Wirecard Teams Up With comdirect to Facilitate Contactless Payment Through Wearables During the 2018 German Beach Volleyball Championships

Germany-based global provider of digital payments and commerce solutions Wirecard announced on Thursday it has partnered with German direct bank comdirect to facilitate contactless payment through wearables. According to Wirecard,  in partnership with Visa payment technology, the duo is offering contactless payment through wearable devices during the 2018 German Beach Volleyball Championships, which is taking place in Timmendorfer Strand from August 31st to September 2nd.

Wirecard reported that the wearable campaign is running as part of the long-term partnership between comdirect and the German Volleyball Association (DVV). During the event, nearly 5,000 wristbands will be distributed to spectators, which now can be used for a variety of payments at the event venue. While sharing more details about the partnership with Wirecard, Matthias Hach, comdirect Sale and Marketing Director, stated:
