OnDeck Appoints Chandra Dhandapani and Manolo Sánchez As New Board of Directors Members

OnDeck (NYSE: ONDK), a small business online lending platform, announced last week it has appointed Chandra Dhandapani, Chief Digital and Technology officer of CBRE Group, and Manolo Sánchez, former CEO of BBVA Compass, to its board of directors.

OnDeck reports at her position at CBRE Group, Dhandapani is responsible for digital strategy, data and all aspects of technology globally, including infrastructure, cybersecurity and product development for the company. Prior to joining CBRE, Dhandapani served in senior technology roles at Capital One Financial, including acting as the Chief Information Officer for Capital One’s auto lending, mortgage, and home equity lending businesses.  

Sánchez is former Chairman, President and CEO of BBVA Compass, one of the largest U.S. commercial banks based on deposit market share. Under his leadership from 2008 to 2017, BBVA Compass grew from 2,000 to more than 10,000 employees and saw assets rise from $3 billion to more than $80 billion through the integration of six acquisitions and $40 billion of organic growth. Sánchez also oversaw the bank’s migration to a new core banking system and pioneered the development of the company’s digital and mobile services.

Speaking about the appointments, Noah Breslow, Chairman and CEO of OnDeck, stated:

OnDeck also reported that James Robinson III, the company’s lead independent director, and David Hartwig will be stepping down from the company’s board of directors, effective December 31, 2018. Dan Henson, former CEO of GE Capital’s lending and leasing business unit for the Americas and former GE Chief Marketing Officer, will become OnDeck’s lead independent director at that time. Breslow added:
