Bitfinex, a digital asset trading platform, announced on Tuesday it is set to begin trading for BitTorrent (BTT). According to Bitfinex, BitTorrent (BTT) token was introduced by Tron Foundation and BitTorrent. It is a TRC-10 token designed to facilitate transactions between users and service providers within the BitTorrent network. Bitfinex also claimed that the BitTorrent Protocol is one of the world’s largest distributed networks with over 100 million monthly active users.
“The BitTorrent Protocol was acquired by the Tron Foundation in 2018. By integrating blockchain technology into the existing BitTorrent foundation, Tron aims to provide a reliable and scalable mechanism to store and exchange value across the distributed ecosystem.”
The support of BitTorrent (BTT) comes just days after Bitfinex introduced a new and improved mobile app. The description of the app reads:
