SEC Schedules Small Business Roundtable & First Meeting of Small Business Capital Formation Advisory Committee Meeting for May 6

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has scheduled a Small Business Roundtable as well as the first meeting of the Small Business Capital Formation Advisory Committee on Small and Emerging Companies to take place on May 6th. Both meetings will be held at the SEC headquarters in Washington, DC and both meetings are open to the public.

The Roundtable hosted by Commission staff, as well as a majority of Commissioners, will discuss small business capital formation, with a focus on the experiences of investors and companies raising capital between the U.S. coasts. The agenda for the roundtable will focus on successes and challenges faced by small businesses and their investors as they seek to raise capital, including the impact of rules and regulations under the federal securities laws.

The Roundtable starts at 930AM on May 6th.

The Small Business Capital Formation Advisory Committee on Small and Emerging Companies will hold a public meeting on May 6, 2019, at 1:00 p.m.

The agenda for the meeting includes “matters relating to rules and regulations affecting small and emerging companies under the federal securities laws.”

Last week, the SEC announced the members of the Advisory Committee which included several Fintech affiliated representatives.

Both meetings will be live-streamed on the SEC website.
