Younited Credit announced today that it has hired Kai Friedrich, a senior German banker to head its German operations.
Younited Credit is the only consumer lending platform which has its own “passportable” license allowing it to operate as a credit institution throughout the European Union. As a result, Younited Credit already serves six European markets, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Germany, and Austria. In addition, the platform has developed a Credit-As-A-Service offering which it white labels to banks, insurers, mobile operators, e-merchants who wish to launch their own credit activity. At the end of 2018, the company had financed more than €1 billion in cumulated loans.
Kai Friedrich is a senior banker with a track record in leading pioneering fintechs and online banks. His career started at Direktanlagebank (DAB), the first German online broker. He then spent three years at Consors France, another online broker, which he ended up heading as CEO. He later became the CEO of Consorsbank and DAB in Germany and member of the Executive Board of BNP Paribas Germany after their acquisition of Consors and DAB by the BNP Paribas group. He was also Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Hello bank! Austria, the mobile bank of BNP Paribas.
“We are proud that Kai Friedrich joins Younited Credit’s entrepreneurial venture to expand our business beyond the Rhine river. His strong experience in the Franco-German banking world will be key to linking these two European markets, thereby accelerating our development!” said Geoffroy Guigou and Charles Egly, co-founders of Younited Credit.
Kai Friedrich, CEO Germany of Younited Credit added:
“Joining a young, dynamic startup like Younited Credit is a very exciting next step in my career. I am proud to be able to inspire the Younited teams with my expertise in the banking sector and the German market and to make a contribution to furthering its internationalization.”
