Global digital asset exchange OKCoin, along with OK Group, announced on Friday it has appointed Hong Fang as Chairman of OKCoin and Chief Operating Officer of OK Group. According to OKCoin, Fang is a former Goldman Sachs banker, as well as an early investor in OKCoin, and a long-time advisor.
OKCoin reported that as COO of OK Group, Fang will be overseeing operations for all of the group’s business lines, which includes OKCoin, OKLink, OK Capital, B-Labs, and OK Engineering Academy. Speaking about his new roles Fang stated:
“I fundamentally believe that blockchain and cryptocurrencies will change the global economy in a profound way that none of us are yet to fully envision. I also believe that OK Group and OKCoin are playing crucial roles in this revolution. Such underlying conviction was why I led investment in OK Group in the first place even before Bitcoin’s 2017 historic run.”
Star Xu, Founder of OKCoin, went on to add:
“We are incredibly excited to have someone of Hong’s caliber and integrity join both OKCoin and OK Group. She brings an international perspective that will be crucial as we pursue our vision of creating a truly global platform; her deep understanding of both the traditional financial industry and disruptive fintech players mirrors the very nature of our business; and her broad experience and excellent leadership skills will prove invaluable to our growth. We are bringing rapid innovation to the cryptocurrency community and to traders throughout the world, and Hong is exactly the right person to help drive this innovation forward.”
