Coronavirus Concern Shutters CME Group Trading Floor

The CME Group will close its Chicago trading floor as of the close of business Friday, March 13, 2020. Similar to many other companies, CME Group is attempting to reduce the risk of Coronavirus exposure.

CME Group was quick to state that no Coronavirus cases have been reported at the Chicago Board of Trade building where trading takes place. The company’s headquarters on Wacker Drive will remain open for the time being.

All products will continue to trade on CME Globex as they do today.

The reopening of the trading floor will be evaluated as more medical guidance on the coronavirus becomes available.  The company’s headquarters at 20 S. Wacker Drive will remain open.

CME Group added that the trading floor community will receive an additional information tomorrow related to the execution of certain floor products, procedures and protocols, and other floor-related practices.
