Investment Marketplace for Music Royalties ANote Music Schedules July Launch

ANote Music, a marketplace for investing in music royalties, is planning to launch on July 28, 2020, according to a company release. Based in Luxembourg, ANote Music plans to allow users to invest in music, own rights from content creators, and earn returns through the royalties that are generated over time.

ANote Music is built using blockchain technology. In January 2020, ANote Music raised over €500,000 in a round, led by European music industry participants. ANote Music is also supported by Luxinnovation, the Luxembourg national innovation agency, providing access to government funding for the startup.

Marzio Schena, CEO and co-founder at ANote Music, commented on the forthcoming launch:

“The launch of the ANote Music investment platform this summer will allow us to bridge the gap between the music industry and capital markets. Our goal is to unlock the hidden value in music for both investors and artists by creating a stock-exchange platform for music investments. We are excited to be the pioneer of alternative investments, while revolutionizing traditional systems within the music industry.”

The music investment platform is currently listing a “pre-order offer” for Irma Records, an Italian record label founded in Bologna, Italy. The company is seeking €200,000 with an expected yield for investors of 6.53%. Investors may participate in the investment offer for as little as €20. Trading will be facilitated as well.

Massimo Benini, CEO of Irma Records, said they are delighted to be part of this new era for the music industry. “We look forward to building on this pre-order offer and continuing our relationship.”

ANote Music explains that it offers the rights from artist catalogs to investors through an auction system. Upon successful bidding, investors receive the shares of rights and can then trade with others on ANote Music at prices determined by supply and demand. On behalf of investors, ANote Music manages royalties and ensures that investors receive their returns. ANote Music’s catalogue is described as a selection of artists with a minimum of three years earnings providing a reliable investment for users.

Schena says their mission is to make music investment an opportunity available to everyone.
