Stripe Partners With Notarize to keep Notaries Working From Home During COVID-19 Pandemic

Online notary platform Notarize announced on Thursday it has formed a new partnership with payments platform Stripe to keep notaries working, remotely and safely, from home during the COVID-19 pandemic.  Notarize reported that by integrating with Stripe Connect, Notarize can pay notaries on the same day they perform notarization services.

“Over the last 100 days, thousands of consumers and businesses have turned to Notarize to remotely complete important transactions like real estate closings, refinancings, payroll processing, and other financial, health, and family-related documentation. In response to a 400-percent surge in demand, we added more than 1,600 notaries to our platform to serve customers safely and securely from the comfort of their home.”

Speaking about the partnership, Pat Kinsel, founder and CEO of Notarize, stated that by integrating with Stripe Connect, Notarize can give notaries tools to get back to work, service some of the largest lenders, title companies, and financial institutions, as well as receive prompt payment.

“We are grateful to be in position to help notaries from around the country pivot their businesses online, and thrilled they have joined the Notarize platform. Together, we are helping people and businesses complete millions of critical transactions.”

James Dyett, Head of Product Growth at Stripe, added:

“Stripe is building critical infrastructure to power the economy online and help businesses adapt to unique circumstances. With Stripe Connect, Notarize is helping notaries adapt and get paid instantly online. It’s a vast improvement on waiting a few days to clear a check, but also critical during uncertain times like these where speed is of the essence.”
