The ASEAN Financial Innovation Network (AFIN) recently confirmed the appointment of H.E Serey Chea, Prof. Olayinka David-West as advisors and Latha Ayyar as an independent director to its board.
The ASEAN Financial Innovation Network (AFIN) has been established in order to facilitate innovation and cooperation between financial institutions (FIs) and Fintechs, so that they can help with digitally transforming the banking and financial sectors across the ASEAN region. This should help promote financial inclusion. AFIN brings together financial industry leaders to Discover, Design and Deploy innovative digital solutions within a collaborative ecosystem.
Through these leadership positions, they will be expected to provide valuable industry expertise in financial platforms, innovation as well as digital technologies in order to promote the ongoing growth of AFIN and its flagship product, API Exchange (APIX).
APIX is an international Cloud-powered digital platform with a key focus on enabling greater financial inclusion. APIX has been developed to help financial institutions and Fintech firms with discovering one another through a curated, globally-accessible marketplace. Participants can design experiments collaboratively in the sandbox and then launch innovative solutions quickly and at an affordable cost.
AFIN‘s management noted that they are quite pleased to have Serey, Olayinka and Latha join the AFIN Board as they prepare to enter the next stage to digitize innovation of the global financial ecosystem.
H.E. Serey Chea is the Assistant Governor and Director General of Central Banking of the National Bank of Cambodia.
She also holds key roles in organizations that support financial inclusion as well as organizations focused on building the leaders of tomorrow. Prof Olayinka David-West is currently the Dean of Lagos Business School. She has extensive experience of over 2 decades in academia and previously held different positions that were focused on strategizing the use of digital technologies for business and society.
Latha Ayyar is a Singapore resident with more than 25 years of industry experience in leading Operations & Technology as well as forming digital businesses across financial institutions (Citi, Bharti AXA, Barclays) and across different jurisdictions.
She’s the COO in India for Barclays US Consumer Banking Business. She has considerable professional experience in pioneering new and emerging tech to streamline business processes.
