Wise (LSE:WISE) the global payments, transfer platform, and stealth bank, has moved to appoint an interim Chief Financial Officer following a bike accident involving Matthew Briers, Wise CFO.
Wise issued the following statement:
To ensure Matthew’s recovery is complete, his return to work will be gradual. Kingsley Kemish, currently Wise’s Finance Director, will report directly to Kristo Käärmann (Wise co-founder and CEO) in the role of Interim CFO for Wise until Matthew’s recovery and return to work are complete.
Wise Founder Kristo Käärmann stated:
“We all wish Matt a speedy recovery and my thanks go to Kingsley for stepping into this interim role. Kingsley’s experience and knowledge of Wise will provide continuity for us as we continue to grow and deliver on our mission.”
Shares in Wise were down by around 3% along with the broader market – due to the war in Ukraine.
