Digital Assets: Bittrex Introduces USDC Trading Pairs

Bittrex, a U.S.-headquartered virtual currency exchange, recently announced that it has added support for USD Coin (USDC) to its list of crypto trading pairs.”

Traders will now have the ability “to trade against USDC along with other quote currencies currently available on the Bittrex exchange.”

As noted in an update shared with CI, cryptocurrency pairs are considered “a valuable tool for allowing users to compare costs between currencies.”

With USDC pairs now available on the Bittrex platform, traders can “directly compare prices of popular crypto assets – such as ETH and BTC – to another U.S. dollar pegged stablecoin. USDC will act as a ‘quote currency’ for other digital assets, giving users a reference against other currencies.”

Heidi Gold, Vice President of Product at Bittrex, stated:

“Providing our traders access to the latest in crypto trading options is paramount for Bittrex, and we’re excited to introduce this for our customers. As USDC has been more widely adopted globally in the past year, it became increasingly clear that Bittrex had an opportunity to support its users by adding this availability to our platform.”

USDC, one of the fastest-growing, dollar digital assets, “stands at more than $49 billion in circulation and has supported more than $1.9 trillion in on-chain transactions as of April, 2022.”

Joao Reginatto, VP of Product at Circle, remarked:

“It is exciting to see support for USDC from more leading exchanges. The addition of USDC as a quote currency to Bittrex will give traders more options and enhanced liquidity, making it easier to access and exchange value on-chain.”

USDC joins an extensive list of trading pairs “currently available on the Bittrex platform, including USD, BTC, ETH, and USDT.”

Founded in 2014 by three cybersecurity engineers, Bittrex claims to be “a leading U.S.-based cryptocurrency exchange.”

With a focus on trust and industry-leading security, Bittrex’s premier trading platform offers “an expansive selection of digital asset listings while maintaining lightning-fast transaction speeds and multiple layers of protection.”

Bittrex’s mission is “to help advance the blockchain industry by fostering innovation, incubating new and emerging technologies, and driving transformative change.”

Bittrex is “not a regulated exchange under U.S. securities laws.”
