Google I/O 2022 is ongoing today and it appears that the top search firm is taking a page out of the Apple book and announcing a new spin on the digital wallet.
In a Tweet, Google (Alphabet) (NASDAQ:GOOG) explains: Coming soon to Android, Google Wallet gives you fast, secure access to all your everyday essentials — including payment cards, boarding passes, vaccine cards, event tickets, and soon even your driver’s license.

An explanation of the new features included in the Google Wallet is available here.
Google also updated Google Pay adding virtual cards to boost security for users.
“Virtual cards from Google Pay will start rolling out this summer, helping you keep your card numbers safe too.”
Digital wallets have quickly become the norm instead of the exception (at least within a certain demographic). Digital wallets can take old financial services and add features and security – all in a super convenient device that you won’t leave home without.
Google has posted a short video on the virtual card update. The YouTube video is below.
