MYPINPAD, an international player in mobile-based payments acceptance and digital authentication solutions, has teamed up with CircleBlue Pay (CBP) and OTP Mobile in a move that will “allow thousands of merchants across Hungary to accept card payments via Tap to Phone technology.”
Based in Budapest, OTP Mobile is “a member of the corporate group held by OTP Bank.”
OTP Mobile has “developed the SimplePay platform containing an online software solution for e-commerce merchants including support for wire transfer payments, and the SimpleBusiness solution for face-to-face card payments.”
The partnership announced today will “enable SimpleBusiness to offer a SoftPOS solution to small businesses and micro merchants via their Android smart phone or tablet using MYPINPAD’s SoftPOS CPoC (Contactless Payments on Commercial off-the-shelf) PCI certified solution, and CBP’s Payment Infrastructure services.”
OTP Mobile merchants “acquired via OTP Bank will no longer require additional hardware to accept payments and users can now pay with their preferred mobile wallet – Apple Pay or Google Pay – or other leading payment methods such as QR codes.”
David Poole, Global Head of Mobile Solutions at MYPINPAD said:
“We’re delighted to announce the partnership with OTP Mobile, and OTP Bank as merchant acquirer, which is an incredibly influential and innovative bank in the Central and Eastern Europe region. Together we are working towards making our SoftPOS solution one of the most successful payment products in the Hungarian market, benefiting merchants and consumers alike.”
Dr. Al-Absi Gáber Seif, Head of Business & Sales, deputy CEO at OTP Mobile, said:
“The partnership with CircleBlue Pay and MYPINPAD marks an important phase in OTP Mobile’s development and our strategy to provide ongoing support to the growing small business market in Hungary. From the beginning of the relationship, there has been strong alignment between all parties, and a shared understanding of how to best meet local needs. We’re excited to enable our merchants with this new functionality and provide a new innovative solution to support their growth ambitions.”
Sirus Zafar, CEO at CircleBlue Pay, said:
“In 2012 we decided to build the European market leading Android based POS solution. We initially focused on new local fiscal rules combined with merchant POS business applications. This was then extended by the integration of various payment channels (mPOS, SmartPOS) and finally by investment into a PCI DSS certified payment ecosystem. We decided to partner with MYPINPAD for Tap to Phone technology because we consider PCI approval fundamental to future proof our market proposition, and now we are very proud to welcome OTP Mobile with OTP Bank to our customer list.”
The service is live with “a small group of selected merchants, with the solution getting a full roll out across Hungary in 2022 via OTP Mobile, OTP Bank’s own sales channels, and users of the SimpleBusiness app.”
