Clearstream has introduced data-powered solutions providing key insights into past, present and future of settlements: the Settlement Dashboard and the artificial intelligence (AI)-enhanced Settlement Prediction Tool.
Market participants are planning to boost their settlement efficiency and liquidity with the Settlement Discipline Regime (SDR) coming into effect this February as failed settlement transfers lead to financial penalties, operational overheads and considerable reputational damage.
With Clearstream’s data services, customers’ operations may leverage these predictions during the day to gain validation and to take necessary actions in order to prevent potential settlement fails, thus expediting settlements. Interactive visualization offers several different views, such as a view of vital markets, asset classes as well as counterparties. This enables customers to benchmark their settlement efficiency against their peers.
Priya Sharma, Head of Data & Connectivity at Clearstream, stated:
“We at Clearstream and Deutsche Börse are convinced of the power of data. Our predictive and prescriptive solutions provide insight and foresight that help our clients make better decisions that improve their performance and business growth. Most failed settlements happen due to lack of detailed knowledge of one’s own settlement activities. By leveraging high-quality predictive data, we provide our clients with that knowledge to be best equipped for regulatory requirements, operational excellence and settlement efficiency.”
Clearstream customers may use the service free-of-cost during the trial period from July to September 2022.
Further details on Clearstream’s data solutions are as follows:
Insights into past / present settlements: The Settlement Dashboard provides customers with key insights on their settlement activity, like efficiency and failure analysis, allowing for the effective monitoring of settlement activity, gauging the potential impact on a daily basis and benchmarking against the market.
Insights into future settlements: The Settlement Prediction Tool is able to predict the probability that a certain instruction may settle on time, up to two business days in advance. Users may leverage the AI-enhanced tool to minimize late settlements penalties and while maximizing value of their assets by allocating them accordingly.
