Raftt Raises $5 Million Seed Round, Emerges from Stealth to Offer Development Sharing

Raftt, has raised a seed round of $5 Million. The funding was led by Aleph VC and Cardumen Capital. Raftt shared that a number of private investors participated in the round, including Ariel Maislos and Benny Schneider, Devtools angel investors; Adi Sharabani, founder of Skycure and currently at Snyk; and Ariel Asraf, CEO of Coralogix.

Emerging out of stealth, Raftt is a startup that aims to provide an advanced cloud-based platform for creating and sharing development environments. Raftt states that it provides “easy-to-use” developer environments that run in the cloud, enabling collaboration while using existing local IDEs and other tools and workflows. These tools are designed to help developers eliminate setup and drift between environments.

Eden Shochat, General Partner at Aleph, commented:

“As a longtime engineer and a productivity geek at heart, I immediately connected to the core value of Raftt: prioritizing the developer experience and speeding up development cycles by eliminating grunt work that not only creates little impact, but is also the root cause for many mistakes. Raftt will rid the world of the all-too-common excuse: ‘but it works on my machine.'”

Roy Iarchy, co-founder and CEO of Raftt, explained that with the surge in cloud technology the dev market has benefitted from many innovations in recent years. While soluttions have emerged to assist development operations and optimize staging and production evironments, developers are still aced with challenges of using tools not build for effecient development:

” Their dev machines are stalled from running multiple services, and too much of their time is spent inefficiently, and not being able to share the environment with team members or colleagues from other teams,” said  “Raftt offers a comprehensive solution for the entire local dev environment without the need to change how the developer works. Behind the scenes, the environment runs in the cloud and adapts the DevOps infrastructure to the developer’s unique needs eliminating time wasted on maintenance and providing a faster and more efficient workflow and an easily shared development environment.

Raftt was founded in 2021 by Iarchy and Gahl Saraf, CTO – both experienced developers who served in the Intelligence Corps of the IDF.
