Atlantic Money Completes EU Expansion, Launches Android App

Atlantic Money announced the completion of its pan-European launch.

The service is now officially “available across 29 countries and allows users to send up to £/€1mn for a fixed fee of £/€3.”

The completion of the EU launch “comes hot on the heels of its localized December roll-out across France, Italy and Spain and only seven months after receiving its official EU payment institution licence from the National Bank of Belgium, the first company to do so in over a year.”

To further the availability of the service, Atlantic Money also “launched its new Android app after initially being available for iOS only.”

From now, Atlantic Money Android users will be “able to transfer up to one million pounds or euros for a fixed fee of £/€3, always at the current exchange rate.”

Compared to competitors like Wise, PayPal or Revolut, users can “save up to 99%.”

Neeraj Baid, co-founder of Atlantic Money notes:

“We’re excited to finish our EU expansion and the launch of our Android app. Over 50% of our visitors had requested Android so we’re happy to now be able to provide it. We have ambitious plans in terms of currency corridors and regional expansion for the year ahead and are excited at the prospect of extending both the benefits and the reach of our product.”

Besides the new Android app, Atlantic Money can be “accessed via the iOS App Store. Starting today, new users can also register via the new web sign up on the homepage.”

A few days ago, Atlantic Money “raised concerns about Wise in a letter to the CMA.”

Wise had “removed Atlantic from its price comparison table while promising to show cheaper competitors and also denied access to external comparison sites bought up by Wise.”

As covered, Atlantic Money is “a venture-backed entity with global investors such as Ribbit Capital, Index Ventures, Kleiner Perkins, 20VC, Amplo, and Elefund.”

Atlantic Money Ltd is “authorized and regulated as a payment institution (FRN: 947491) by the Financial Conduct Authority in England and Wales (13057810), and Atlantic Money NV is authorized and regulated as a payment institution by the National Bank of Belgium in the EU (0783.476.423).”
