wefox, which claims to be one of the world’s leading Insurtech firms, has recently “appointed Nicholas Walker as Chief HR Officer, with immediate effect.”
Julian Teicke, CEO and founder of wefox said:
“With Nick joining us as Chief HR Officer we are not only adding to our experience and talent in our senior leadership team, but also in ensuring we continue to place people and culture at the heart of all that we do. I am confident that Nick’s global knowledge together with his passion for people will help us realise our strategic ambitions.”
As noted in the update, Walker is “a seasoned HR professional with more than 25 years’ global experience that spans technology, fintech and payment industries, most recently Paysafe.”
Mr. Walker said:
“I’m excited to be joining wefox at what is an important time for the continued success of the business. I’m looking forward to working with a talented and highly motivated team in supporting the entire business in continuing our international growth and taking strides towards profitability.”
In July last year, wefox successfully “closed a series D round of $400 million giving the company a post-money valuation of US$4.5 billion.”

wefox claims it is “a category-defining Insurtech platform that is connecting insurance companies, distributors, and customers, to give the world simple access to digital insurance solutions.”
The goal is “to keep people safe by making insurance 10x better through technology. wefox is the parent company of wefox Insurance, which is the in-house regulated insurance carrier.”
As covered last month, wefox announced the appointment of Dr. Günther Blaich as the Country Lead for Germany.
Effective immediately, Dr. Blaich will be “responsible for leading wefox Germany and driving the company’s growth and profitability strategy.”
Dr. Blaich brings “with him an impressive insurance pedigree, with over two decades of experience in various senior management roles in sales, product management, and operations within the Swiss Life Group servicing the sales organizations horbach, Proventus, tecis, and Swiss Life Select.”
Prior to joining wefox, Dr. Blaich “was Managing Partner for Franke und Bornberg Research in Germany, where he was responsible for the expansion of their platform strategy.”
