Prominent Fintech Attorney Marc Boiron Steps in as CEO of Polygon Labs

Marc Boiron, a well-known attorney in the Fintech sector, has stepped in as CEO of Polygon Labs.

Polygon is a scaling technology for Ethereum that has garnered significant support.  The popularity of Ethereum has helped to gloss over some of its challenges, and Polygon is a layer two technology that aims to help Ethereum remain competitive and sustainable with its low-cost, speedy transactions. In February of 2022, Polygon raised a significant VC round of $450 million.

Boiron has long been vocal in his support of innovation in financial services and a regular suspect on the speaking circuit.

In a blog post, Boiron noted that for the last year, he has been working with the Polygon founders to help run the organization, adding he intends to lean into their engineering roots.

“I am incredibly excited to start this new endeavor with the entire Polygon Labs team. As you might have seen from our recent Polygon 2.0 announcements, we are returning to our “tech first” roots while still allowing the business side to flourish. A difference between the Polygon ecosystem and every other blockchain ecosystem is the completeness of the ecosystem: quality tech, quality DeFi, quality gaming, quality PFPs, quality Web2 use cases, etc. Eventually, all of these will collide, adding value to one another.”

Boiron said they are building the future of blockchain technology.
