Ant Group Appoints Peng Yang as President of International Business Group

Ant Group recently announced the appointment of Peng Yang, Senior Vice President of Ant Group, as the President of the Company’s International Business Group (IBG). Peng Yang reports to Eric Jing, Ant Group’s Chairman and CEO.

Eric Jing, Chairman and CEO of Ant Group, said:

“We strive to enable global consumers to enjoy seamless payment experience around the world with one home e-wallet, and merchants to build greater international success with one integrated World Account that offers a full set of global digital funds management and credit services. With a firm commitment to openness and collaboration, we look forward to seeing our International Business Group seizing the strategic opportunities and achieving more critical breakthroughs towards this vision.”

Since the beginning of 2023, the company’s International Business Group has “seen rapid business growth.”

Specifically, the Alipay+ business “connects over 2.5 million global merchants to over a billion Asian consumers via a one-stop integration of over 20 most popular payment methods in Asia.”

Their Business+ team has “helped over one million SMEs to go global in the continuous surge of cross-border e-commerce with our full-stack collection, payment, exchange, lending and other funds management services in over 40 countries and regions as cross-border e-commerce continues to surge.”

Ant Group is also “developing comprehensive banking capabilities to better aid the development of regional and global SMEs.”

Prior to joining Ant Group’s IBG in February 2023 to lead Alipay+ global business lines, Peng Yang led continued innovation and “drove growth for Alipay’s digital life services during his years of work at Alipay.”

Before joining Ant Group, Peng served “as Vice President of Dell Technologies, holding various executive roles across Greater China, Asia Pacific, and global emerging markets, accumulating extensive experience in cross-market and cross-cultural management.”

Since taking the helm as the President of IBG at the end of 2019, Angel Zhao has “led the team to achieve major breakthroughs and scale up the budding international business to new heights of growth. Due to family reasons, Angel will leave her post as President of IBG.”

Ant Group is grateful “for Angel Zhao’s enormous contribution to our international endeavor.”

Going forward, Angel will “aid Eric Jing, Chairman and CEO of the Group, in future-oriented strategic planning with her rich experience and global vision.”
